On 15th June, 4 cadets from 2457 (Tring) Sqn ATC, had the opportunity to experience a flight in a light aircraft for the first time. The aircraft used by cadets is a Grob Tutor (pictured). The Grob Tutor has a site by side seating arrangement with all the controls in front of you.
When we arrived at 6 Air Experience Flight (AEF) we were taught about the emergency procedures, such as jumping out of the aircraft. After the briefings and getting ready for the flight we all flew for around 20-25 mins each. We were ale to communicate with the pilot through a microphone and speakers built into the helmet. During the flight I was able to take control of the aircraft and experienced aerobatics, feeling the effects of both positive and negative 'G' Forces.
To date this is the most memorable experience I have had within the Sqn.
