The BTEC
It is now possible for a cadet to obtain the equivalent of up to 12 GCSE exams by being an active cadet !

BTEC in aviation studies – By passing the cadet classification exams to an acceptable  standard a cadet can gain the equivalent of 4 GCSE grades A to C. The syllabus covered deals with many aspects of aviation including its impact on the environment. You will also be required to undertake visits to RAF establishments & take part in flying & gliding.
BTEC in public services – Once over the age of 16 a cadet should have a wide variety of experiences & responsibilities. A cadet will need to complete an official public services employment workbook & provide evidence of leadership skills, fitness, adventure training activities, & navigation skills.
BTEC in music – If you play a musical instrument to a recognised certificate standard then you can also work towards this award as well as expand your musical skills as part of the Wing band. You will need to plan an event, provide video evidence of a rehearsal & performance & undertake research for a presentation on one of the armed forces bands.
It isn’t just for the cadets either ! Adult staff can also work towards various awards up to degree standards.
